Description
Mam Tor itself is an ancient hill fort, there is evidence of this around the summit of Mam Tor itself. This walk also takes in Back Tor and Loose Hill and give panoramic views of the Hope Valley. It is home to a variety of wildlife, skylarks, kestrels and ravens are often seen, gorse and bilberry bushes line the walking route along with sheep from the local farms. Views of Kinder Scout, Win Hill and Stannage Edge can be seen as well as the villages of Edale and Castleton.

Meeting point: Mam Nick car park, S33 8WA, 272 bus runs to Castleton, it would be possible to run a bespoke walk from the bus stop, this would increase length to 8 miles.
